Screening Candidates

SCREENING CANDIDATES

In addition to exploring a candidate’s experience, expertise, and career objectives to determine if s/he is a good match for the position, BR also screens candidates for the following personal information that could affect their ability to work for you:

  • If s/he is authorized to work in the U.S.
  • If s/he can put in the hours needed to meet deadlines on important projects.
  • If s/he is willing to travel (should the position require it).
  • If s/he is willing to relocate.
  • What professional or trade organizations s/he belongs to that are relevant to the position.
  • If the candidate can perform the job as described, and if there are any reasons why the company may have to accommodate certain schedule or personal requirements that may interfere with the required work schedule or tasks.
  • What their salary history is, and what compensation package they would like to receive.
  • If there are any circumstances or needs relevant to the candidate’s family situation that need to be addressed in order for the candidate to take this job.
  • The soonest date s/he would be available to start in the new position.
